What a truly memorable evening at our Spring concert, Romantic Classics in Matlock.
We were delighted to share a rich and expressive programme with a wonderful audience whose warmth and enthusiasm filled the hall from start to finish—thank you for being such an important part of the experience.
A special highlight of the evening was the outstanding performance by our soloist, Coraleigh Kelly-Edwards. Her playing in Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto was both technically brilliant and deeply expressive, captivating everyone in the room and earning well-deserved admiration.
We are as always grateful to our Musical Director, River Edis-Smith, for his inspiring leadership and thoughtful interpretation, guiding the orchestra with clarity and passion throughout the programme.
The orchestra rose magnificently to the occasion, delivering performances full of energy, sensitivity, and commitment—from the dramatic sweep of Weber’s overture to the warmth and grandeur of Brahms’ Symphony No. 2.
Thank you once again to our fantastic audience for your support and enthusiasm—we look forward to welcoming you again soon!
