On a sweltering summer evening, Chesterfield Symphony Orchestra delivered a refreshing escape with their Magical Classics Concert on Saturday 12th July 2025 at David Nieper Academy. The audience was treated to a beautifully curated programme, including Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Grace Williams’ charming Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes, and Forsyth’s Viola Concerto, featuring a heartfelt performance by former CSO member Melissa Doody. The concert concluded with a rousing rendition of Dvorák’s Symphony No. 8, rounding off a magical night of music that soared despite the heat.
